The EUROSAI Parallel Audit on Artificial Intelligence has concluded with the publication of a comprehensive final consolidated report, marking an important milestone in international public-sector auditing cooperation (30/3/2026).
The audit examined governmental preparedness for the implementation of artificial intelligence across 12 participating Supreme Audit Institutions (SAIs): Albania, Estonia, France, Israel, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, North Macedonia, Poland, Romania, Slovakia and Switzerland. The report provides a comparative perspective on how governments are addressing the legal, ethical and operational challenges arising from the growing use of AI technologies.
The initiative was coordinated by SAI Israel, which led the parallel audit process throughout all stages in close cooperation with the participating SAIs. The project reflects a high level of professional collaboration and knowledge-sharing within the EUROSAI community.

In a letter marking the conclusion of the project, EUROSAI President Mr. Matanyahu Englman, State Comptroller and Ombudsman of Israel, highlighted the importance of the initiative and commended the joint efforts of all participants.
"This audit demonstrates the strength of cooperation within the EUROSAI community and provides valuable insights into how public administrations are preparing for the opportunities and challenges associated with artificial intelligence", he stated.
Mr. Englman also expressed his appreciation to the AI Audit Team from SAI Israel for their leadership and coordination, noting that their "dedication and expertise were instrumental in bringing this complex cross-border project to a successful conclusion".
The report is expected to serve as an important reference for Supreme Audit Institutions and policymakers, offering practical insights and methodologies to support effective oversight of AI implementation in the public sector.
EUROSAI members are encouraged to review the findings, which contribute to strengthening audit practices as governments increasingly integrate artificial intelligence into public administration.
