State Comptroller and Ombudsman Matanyahu Englman, met (Thursday, March 5, 2026) the Biton family, who tragically lost their three children in the missile strike that occurred in Beit Shemesh that week. He also engaged with evacuees currently accommodated at a hotel in Jerusalem, conducted a site visit to the location of the Iranian missile strike in Tel Aviv, and inspected a public shelter at the Tel Aviv Central Bus Station, where numerous foreign workers and their children are staying.

The Comptroller underscored that the ongoing conflict necessitates government officials to deliver adequate support to deserving populations, particularly those residents whose homes have been damaged by missiles since the commencement of Operation Roaring Lion.

According to Englman, "In addition to managing the military campaign against Iran, and considering the ongoing war situation, the government must devote particular attention to populations from low socio-economic backgrounds so as to facilitate their return to normalcy. No one should be left behind!

"In recent months we have published reports on the response provided by the government and local authorities to the population compelled to vacate its homes due to the war. Government ministers must rectify these inadequacies as indicated in the audit findings and derive the necessary lessons immediately."
