Against the background of the war against Iran, the Office of the Ombudsman at the Office of the State Comptroller is renewing the activity of the hotline – the special line designed for people finding it difficult to exercise their rights and who require assistance vis-à-vis the public bodies following the state of emergency.

The hotline will operate as of Monday, 2.3.2026, Sunday to Thursday, from 08:00 to 16:00, at telephone number 02-6665199 and on WhatsApp number 050-3995422.

The hotline is designed for complaints concerning the state of emergency only. Likewise, complaints against public bodies may also be submitted to the Office of the Ombudsman via an online form on the website of the Office of the State Comptroller and Ombudsman and by additional methods. In addition to Hebrew, it is possible to submit a complaint in any language, including Arabic, Russian, Amharic and English.

Likewise, employees of the Office of the Ombudsman are expected to leave the office and go out to assist evacuees who have been adversely affected in Operation Roaring Lion, and who have encountered bureaucratic problems.

State Comptroller and Ombudsman Matanyahu Englman: "Alongside the important war effort in Iran, it is essential to learn lessons from the defects that arose in the handling of the home front during the Swords of Iron War and Operation Rising Lion and provide the residents with a correct and rapid response. The entire country is on the front line and all government ministries and authorities must help out, even on their own initiative. I call upon the Prime Minister's Office to order the launch of a unified emergency hotline for the government ministries to provide service to Israeli citizens, in particular during this challenging period".
