SAI Israel and SAI North Macedonia organized a meeting on the international Parallel Audit on Government Preparedness for an Aging Population
The Office of the State Comptroller and Ombudsman of Israel organized an international meeting in close cooperation with the State Audit Office of North Macedonia, which generously hosted the event (September 9–11, 2025).
The meeting focused on the International Parallel Audit on Government Preparedness for an Aging Population.
It began with a welcoming speech by the State Auditor of North Macedonia Mr. Maksim Acevski, and an opening speech by the State Comptroller and Ombudsman of Israel, Mr. Matanyahu Englman, who also serves as President of the European Organisation of Supreme Audit Institutions (EUROSAI).
Mr. Englman stated: "Let us not forget – behind the audits. There are people. Our parents. Our grandparents. Ourselves – just a few years from now".
During the event, auditors from the participating countries — Albania, Israel, Lithuania, Malta, North Macedonia, Paraguay, Poland, Portugal, and the Slovak Republic — presented their findings to date on key issues, including aging-related policy frameworks, pension systems, and the preparedness of health and welfare systems.
In addition, working groups convened throughout the meeting to discuss the structure and framework of the final report, which is scheduled for publication in the summer of 2026.
The Israeli delegation consisted of Dr. Liron Nathan, Dr. Hodaya Lampert, and Dr. Einat Argavan.
