The State Comptroller and Ombudsman toured the headquarters of the ZAKA organization and spoke about the importance of volunteering in times of routine and emergency
The State Comptroller and Ombudsman, Matanyahu Englman, toured the headquarters of the ZAKA organization, against the background of the writing of a comprehensive audit report dealing with the issue of the evacuation of casualties on October 7. The Comptroller was also joined by his Office's Director General, Brig. Gen. (Res.) Yishai Vaknin, and the Office's senior staff members.
The Director General of ZAKA, Duby Weissensetrn, the Commander of ZAKA's Special Units, Chaim Otmazgin, and the Deputy Director General of the Operations Unit, Chaim Weingarten, presented to Comptroller Englman and his staff the activities of the various units and departments of the organization during times of emergency and routine.
The State Comptroller noted the work of writing the report dealing with the evacuation of casualties during the Simchat Torah massacre. "Within the framework of the audits on Swords of Iron, we are completing a report dealing with the issue of the evacuation of casualties during October 7", he said. "There is no doubt that you were prominent on October 7, and you gained much appreciation from all sectors of Israeli society for your dedication and volunteering. Your daily activity, which represents values of preserving the dignity of the dead, is no less important. I attach great importance to the fact that the audit will also deal with both emergency and routine".
