During the granting of licenses for accountants' ceremony, Comptroller Englman related to the audit report on local government to be published next week: "Advance preparation will prevent harm to human life"
The State Comptroller and Ombudsman, Matanyahu Englman, took part in the Ministry of Justice's granting of licenses for accountants' ceremony, which was held in ICC Jerusalem (15.7.2025).
The Comptroller said that "In a week we shall publish an audit report on local government. This year, the report will be especially relevant with serious findings, among other things concerning two issues – the treatment of dangerous buildings and the preparedness for fires".

"These two subjects were put to the test during recent months: One month ago the State of Israel paid a heavy price following the damage to buildings by the Iranian missiles, which unfortunately led to the loss of human lives, and two months ago the 77th Independence Day celebrations were disrupted as a result of the fire that raged in the Jerusalem hills".
"These are critical matters and from here I call upon the Prime Minister and the relevant ministers to place special emphasis on treating them. An appropriate budget and advance preparation will prevent the loss of human life, damage to property and many other resources".
