The State Comptroller and Ombudsman, Matanyahu Englman, and Dr. Valentina Gosek opened an exhibition of drawings by the artist Margarita Gosek Z"L at the Office of the State Comptroller (30.6.25). Margarita Z"L, Valentina's daughter, was murdered together with her partner Simon Dubchenko Z"L at the Nova festival in Re'im on 7.10. The exhibition bears the name "I Was Born to Live".

"We are accustomed to displaying varied exhibitions at our office, but this exhibition is one of a kind, because to our regret the creator and artist is no longer with us", said Comptroller Englman at the opening of the exhibition. "Margarita engaged in the field of the art of drawing, sculpture and ceramics. From the works presented in the exhibition we get the impression that Margarita was a consummate artist. May her memory be for a blessing".

The Comptroller emphasized that "The State Comptroller institution is performing its statutory duty in conducting a state audit and investigating complaints from the public during times of routine and emergency and especially during wartime. The results of the terror attack and terrible massacre and the Swords of Iron War emphasize the public and moral duty to conduct an audit to examine the conduct of all echelons – political, military and civilian – on October 7. We are currently working on dozens of reports about the war, including a report on the licensing processes and the preparations for guarding the party at the Re'im parking lot (Nova). This report may provide the families of the murdered and injured people with a response to some of the many questions that have not yet been clarified. Dear Gosek family, we are praying that you will see days of solace and relief. We shall continue to wish for the return of the hostages and the recovery of the injured and pray for the victory of the IDF and the defense forces. And that our country will see peace, quiet and security".

Dr. Valentina Gosek said that "Margarita was just 21 years old. Since her murder, my life has come to a halt, and I have become a wreck. The terror attack where our children were murdered has shaken our faith in the state and its institutions. The State of Israel has abandoned its children and is not giving us any answers. There is no responsible adult to tell us what exactly happened there".

Dr. Gosek repeatedly emphasized the important role of the state audit at this time, as she did recently at the meeting of the Knesset State Control Committee. "Six months ago, the community of the parents of the Nova murder victims understood that there is a light at the end of the tunnel – the State Comptroller's audit", said Dr. Gosek at the opening of the exhibition. "Your role is very very important. You have become the responsible adult in the State of Israel and the only ones who can provide us with answers. I am asking that you do faithful work, which will give us some answers, so that those who abandoned our children will not think that they will be able to do it once again.

Here with us are bereaved parents of observation soldiers and of the Nova murder victims, and they do not have a life. When the truth comes to light, we will close the circle".
