During the days of Operation Rising Lion, the State Comptroller and Ombudsman, Matanyahu Englman, met with evacuees who had been living in buildings impacted by the missiles launched from Iran. Comptroller Englman was accompanied by the Director of the Office of the Ombudsman at the Office of the State Comptroller, Adv. Carmit Fenton.

In addition to the State Comptroller's meetings with the evacuees, the Office of the Ombudsman's employees are receiving complaints from people affected by the war who have not received a solution from public bodies, both by visiting the evacuee sites in person and by the special hotline set up for this purpose whose number is 02-6665199.
Last week the State Comptroller and the Director of the Office of the Ombudsman met with evacuees from Petah Tikva who are staying at the Daniel Hotel in Herzliya. This week they met with evacuees from Rehovot who are staying at the Brown Hotel in Jerusalem.

"The Office of the Ombudsman will see to it that your inquiries are dealt with". The meeting with the evacuees in Jerusalem.

The evacuees presented to the Comptroller the uncertainty and helplessness they feel concerning the treatment of their homes that were hit, concerning their employment capacity and the continuation of their stay in the hotels. 

In his conversations with the evacuees, the Comptroller emphasized that "Alongside the importance of the war with Iran, the state must look after the evacuees promptly while learning lessons from the defects that arose during the course of the evacuation of the residents from the south and north after October 7th. We are here for you and the Office of the Ombudsman will see to it that your inquiries are dealt with".
