In Netivot the Comptroller met with firefighters and senior staff at the station. They flooded the Comptroller with the problems they are facing, and he promised to deal with them via the audit teams. They also told him about the heroic acts of Sergeant Firefighter Yevgeny Galsky Z"L who was murdered by terrorists. In Merhavim, the Comptroller and senior staff from his office met with the council's head, Shai Hajaj, and heard about the shortage of food products in the council's localities following the state of emergency and the lack of protective solutions for the residents.

State Comptroller Matanyahu Englman: "The scale of the massacre perpetrated by the Hamas terrorists on Israeli citizens becomes more apparent from day to day. Every day Israeli citizens are showing themselves in all their glory. Alongside this, the government ministries must act to provide a solution for all the needy and the requirements. The Gaza Envelope localities and adjoining cities deserve the best protection and the proper conditions, in particular at this difficult time. The Office of the State Comptroller and Ombudsman stand with the residents, the wounded and the evacuated in anything they may need. This is alongside conducting a comprehensive and significant audit, after the war has ended, about all the failures on the political, military and civilian levels".
