The Office of the Ombudsman's Activity for the Benefit of Older Persons Represented Israel in the UN Discussions (4.4.23)

At the opening session of the UN Assembly (3.4.23), the Director of the Office of the Ombudsman, presented the special report published by the State Comptroller and Ombudsman, on the challenges and goals in providing services for older persons

Publication of the special report by the State Comptroller and Ombudsman, Matanyahu Englman, on the subject of the challenges and goals in providing services for older persons, has aroused great interest among people engaged in the field of the rights of older persons, in the international arena as well.

Currently 3-6.4.23)), a work group on the subject of the rights of older persons is being convened at the UN, comprising representatives from many countries worldwide. The work group discusses the various aspects concerning the challenges facing the countries in this context, and the countries present the remarkable initiatives they had launched.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs decided that the work of the Office of the Ombudsman concerning older persons, including the special report published by the Ombudsman on the subject, would represent Israel within the framework of the discussions being conducted in the UN work group.

A video clip was screened at the opening session, where the Director of the Office of the Ombudsman, Dr. Esther Ben-Haim, presented the Office of the Ombudsman's activity for the benefit of older persons - and the highlights from the special report which was published in February 2023.
