Last week State Comptroller Matanyahu Englman conducted a tour of the traffic axes in Samaria and Binyamin accompanied by senior staff from the IDF, the Israel Police and Magen David Adom. The Office's Director General, Ishay Vaknin, and the Defense Establishment Inspector General, Eitan Dahan, also took part in the tour. During the tour the Comptroller received a survey of the security forces' activity in securing the axes, against the background of the shooting attack where Hillel and Yagel Yaniv Z"L were murdered and the subsequent riots which occurred in Hawara.
Comptroller Englman said that "I attach great importance to bringing the audit to the field and educating the teams within the framework of the annual work plan. There is currently a significant challenge in protecting the security of all Israeli citizens in the shadow of the security situation and the chain of terror attacks which we are experiencing. I wish to thank the IDF soldiers and security forces for the dedicated work which they are doing day and night for the sake of the security of Israeli citizens. We shall continue to observe this activity".
