State Comptroller Matanyahu Engelman: For 2000 years of exile, every Jew in the world expressed his longing for Israel and they all had the same prayer – to reach the Holy Land. Ethiopian Jewry is a symbol of longing for Jerusalem. The Jews who lived in Ethiopia did not give up, and despite difficulties they set their sights on reaching the promised land. Hence, the state's duty is also to receive the immigrants in the best possible way. This is how we view it in the State Comptroller, we attach great importance to the matter, and we will continue to monitor the integration of immigrants in Israel."
