The State Comptroller's visit to the Enforcement Authority Bureau in Haifa (August 9th, 2022)

The State Comptroller and Ombudsman Matanyahu Engelman met with the Enforcement Authority Registrar in Haifa and with the Director General of the Enforcement and Collection Authority and his staff

The State Comptroller and Ombudsman Matanyahu Engelman visited the enforcement authority bureau of the Enforcement and Collection Authority in Haifa on August 9th, 2022. The State Comptroller and Ombudsman was accompanied by the Director General of the Enforcement and Collection Authority Uri Wallerstein and his team and the Director of the Public Complaints Commission in the State Comptroller's Office, Dr. Esti Ben Haim and her staff.

As part of the tour, State Comptroller Engelman also met with Haifa enforcement authority Registrar, Aya Mahajna-Karaman, and heard from her about her approach as a registrar towards the population appearing for hearings.

The Authority Director General gave the State Comptroller and his team a review of the Authority's work, the dashboard that facilitates operation and the Authority's attempts to perform the job with maximum sensitivity towards the debtors.

State Comptroller Engelman: "I consider great importance in going out into the field and meeting with the audited entities to learn about their challenges, and in particular when it concerns the authority whose role is to collect debts and interact with a population of hundreds of thousands of citizens, many of whom are from a low socioeconomic background."
