Comptroller Englman: "Cooperation among the world's audit institutions is essential"

State Comptroller and Ombudsman Matanyahu Englman participated in a conference of the European Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions (EUROSAI), which was held in the Czech Republic. During the conference the Comptroller met with several of his colleagues, including the comptrollers of the Czech Republic, the UK, the Netherlands and Ukraine. The President of the Czech Republic, Milos Zeman, also met with the delegation of European comptrollers.

Comptroller Englman, who is serving as the First Vice-President of EUROSAI, will become president of the international organization in 2024.

The Comptroller presented the conference's participants with the foundations of the organization's strategic plan for the coming years.

"Given the fact that all of the audit institutions face the same challenges – the COVID-19 pandemic, the changing digital world and digital currencies, and environmental aspects such as the climate crisis – cooperation among audit institutions is necessary and essential, especially in light of our independent role as state audit institutions," Englman said.
