The State Comptroller, Matanyahu Englman, at Haaretz and Hebrew University's Climate Conference:

The majority of government ministries are ignoring the climate crisis. We see an enormous gap between the public bodies' view that it is important to address this, and gaps in the allocation of budgets, the setting of governmental targets, of each and every ministry. We found a failure in the fact that different ministries have different powers, different agendas and different policy.

There is no coherent government policy on the issue of addressing the climate crisis.

The Climate Law was mentioned here earlier; we are lagging behind. 56 countries have a climate law with goals that obligate all of the government's ministries. Otherwise, each ministry and its direction do not take this into account. It is important that all of the bodies and all of the government ministries take the climate crisis into account in their work, with measurable targets and with budgets."
